Ayer me desperté alrededor de la 1 p.m. (sí, un poco tarde 😅) y mi mamá me dijo que mis phopos vendrían como a las 2:30 o 3 p.m.
Mi habitación estaba hecha un desastre, mi cabello parecía no haberse peinado en días y definitivamente no estaba vestida para recibir visitas. Así que corrí a limpiar mi cuarto, arreglarme un poco y tomar un desayuno rápido.

Una vez que terminé con todo eso, le dije a mi mamá de repente: "¡Quiero hacer un pastel!"
Ella me miró como diciendo: "¿En serio? ¿Ahora?" y me respondió: "Ya es muy tarde. Si te hubieras despertado temprano y me lo hubieras dicho antes, no te habría dicho que no".
Pero después de un poco de insistencia, me dio permiso con una sonrisa. ¡Y yo me emocioné muchísimo!

Rápidamente revisé los ingredientes y me di cuenta de que… se había acabado el cacao en polvo. 😩
Me preocupé un poco, porque ya me había costado trabajo conseguir el permiso, pero mi mamá dijo: "No hay problema, dile a alguien que lo traiga y empieza rápido. ¡Tienes muy poco tiempo!"

Llamé al chico que vive arriba y le pedí que trajera cacao en polvo. En cuanto lo trajo, entré en modo repostería:
Primero molí el azúcar. Luego rompí 3 huevos, añadí azúcar glas, aceite y leche en un bowl, y lo batí bien.

Después vinieron los ingredientes secos: harina, cacao en polvo y polvo de hornear.

Mezclé todo hasta que quedó bien integrado.

Luego vertí la mezcla en un molde y lo puse a hornear en la estufa. Tardó casi una hora, y todo ese tiempo estuve emocionada pero también un poco nerviosa.

Mientras el pastel se horneaba, preparé rápidamente una ganache de chocolate usando leche, cacao en polvo y azúcar glas. La cociné hasta que espesó. Una vez que el pastel estuvo listo, lo desmoldé, vertí la ganache encima y lo serví a los invitados.

Cuando todos dieron su primer bocado, yo estaba conteniendo la respiración pensando: "¿Les gustará? ¡Por favor que les guste!" 😬
Y luego llegaron las sonrisas, los comentarios amables, la apreciación, los halagos y los cumplidos.
Ese momento hizo que todo el apuro, el esfuerzo, el estrés y el desorden valieran totalmente la pena. No podía dejar de sonreír. 🥰

Yesterday I woke up around 1 pm (yes, a bit too late 😅) and my mom told me that my phopos were coming over around 2:30 or 3 pm. My room was a mess, my hair looked like they hadn't been combed for days and I definitely wasn't dressed to meet anyone. So I rushed to clean up the room, freshen up and have a quick breakfast.

Once I was done with all that things, I randomly told my mom, "I want to bake a cake!"
She looked at me like, "Seriously? Now?" and said, "It is already too late. If you had woked up early and had told me earlier, I wouldn't have said no."
But after little convincing, she gave permission with a smile. I got super excited!

I quickly checked for ingredients and realized... the cocoa powder was finished. 😩
I panicked a little because I had gotten permission after so much convincing, but my mom said, "No problem, just ask someone to bring it and start fast. You have very little time!"

I called the boy who lives upstairs and asked him to bring cocoa powder. Once he did, I rushed into the baking mode:
Firstly I blended the sugar. Then I cracked 3 eggs, added powdered sugar, oil and milk into a bowl and whisked it well.

Then came the dry ingredients: All purpose flour, cocoa powder and baking powder.

I mixed it all together until it's combined well.

Then I poured the mixture into a cake mould and set it on the stove to bake. It took almost an hour and the entire time I was excited and a little nervous.

While the cake was baking, I made a quick chocolate ganache using milk, cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Then cooked it till it thickened. Once the cake was done, I de-moulded it and poured the ganache on top and served it to the guests.

When everyone took their first bite, I was holding my breath like, "Will they like it? Please like it!" 😬
And then came the smiles, the kind words, appreciation, praises and compliments.
That one moment made all the rush, effort, panic and mess worth it. I couldn't stop smiling. 🥰
