Park Plans, Prank Calls: Part 2 of Our Sleepover Madness

Como mencioné en mi última publicación, la noche del domingo fue dura. Todos estaban agotados y yo no podía dormir por más que lo intentara. Así que alrededor de las 4 a.m., todavía seguía despierta, y por suerte una de mis primas también. Las dos estábamos ahí sentadas como zombis, susurrando planes sobre el parque como dos organizadoras de eventos con privación de sueño:
—"¿Qué haremos primero?"
—"¡Vamos a caminar!"
—"No, mejor nos sentamos a comer snacks como tías jubiladas."
Alrededor de las 7 a.m., le escribí a mi padre para confirmar si podía dejarme el portátil. Me respondió con su típica calma:
"Sí, lo dejo a las 8."
Así que esperé…
Y justo a las 8 a.m., apareció. Le di un vaso de agua, tomé el portátil como si fuera un tesoro y él se fue a la oficina.
Mientras tanto, otra prima se despertó. ¿Las demás? Todavía en modo hibernación, como si no hubieran dormido en días. Empezamos a debatir si ir al parque antes o después del desayuno, y al final decidimos: comamos primero o nos vamos a desmayar bajo el sol.
Entonces decidimos preparar el desayuno. Mi prima y yo hicimos parathas, omelets y té, y una prima más se unió para ayudar. Justo cuando estábamos sirviendo todo, sonó el timbre. Era otra prima, la que habíamos prácticamente suplicado que viniera diciendo:
"¡Por favooor, sin ti no será divertido!"
Al final vino y se unió al desayuno.
Después de servir, intentamos despertar a las dos últimas dormilonas. Una se levantó, pero la otra se negó rotundamente y volvió a dormir. Así que le dejamos su desayuno apartado y seguimos con nuestro día.
Revisamos afuera y vimos que hacía demasiado sol. Así que pospusimos el plan del parque. En su lugar, reímos hasta que nos dolió la barriga, hablamos sin parar y decidimos descargar una película para ver. Esa sola tarea de descargarla tomó siglos. Probablemente el Wi-Fi se fue de huelga.
Mientras tanto, jugamos algunos juegos. Y no cualquier juego… los que sacan el modo bestia competitiva. Nos divertimos tanto que ni notamos que ya eran las 4:30 p.m.
Decidimos ver la película. Finalmente la empezamos y vimos la mitad, luego hicimos una pausa para rezar Asar. Después nos empezamos a alistar para ir al parque.
Llegamos al parque como a las 6 p.m., y por suerte el clima estaba fresco, tranquilo y todo verde a nuestro alrededor.
Compramos palomitas de maíz y las disfrutamos.
Después vino la sesión de fotos obligatoria.
Porque seamos honestos, si los primos se reúnen y no se sacan fotos, ¿realmente se reunieron?
Incluso hice una mini sesión de fotos de mi hermana. Ella era la más emocionada con el plan del parque desde la mañana, así que su energía estaba a otro nivel.
El parque se llenó demasiado, así que decidimos regresar a casa. De vuelta en la casa de la nani, comimos papas fritas bien ricas y empezamos el clásico de toda pijamada: Verdad o Reto.
Algunos eligieron verdad, otros reto… y entonces llegó el reto más loco de la noche. Una de mis primas tuvo que hacer una llamada de broma fingiendo ser yo. Llamó a mi hermana desde mi celular e intentó imitar mi voz. Al principio, mi hermana la reconoció… pero después de un rato, empezó a hablar como si realmente fuera yo. Todo iba bien… hasta que le pasó el celular a mi mamá. Y obvio, mi mamá reconoció la voz al instante. 😆
No nos detuvimos ahí. También hicimos llamadas de broma a algunos amigos de nuestras primas… y sus reacciones revelaron su verdadero nivel de amistad. Fue demasiado divertido. 😂

As I mentioned in my last post that Sunday night was rough. Everyone was exhausted and I couldn't sleep no matter how hard I tried. So around 4 am I was still awake and luckily was one of my cousins. We both sat there like zombies and whisper-planning about park like two sleep-deprived event managers:
"What will we do first?"
"Let's walk!"
"No, let's sit and eat snacks like retired aunties"
Around 7 am I texted my father to confirm if he could drop off the laptop. He replied with his usual calm: "Yes, I'll drop it at 8"
So I waited…
Exactly at 8 am he showed up. I gave him a glass of water and took the laptop like it was treasure and he left for the office.
Meanwhile another cousin woke up. The rest? They were still in hibernation like they hadn't slept for days. We debated whether to go to the park before breakfast or after and finally decided: let's eat first or we will faint under the sun.
So we decided to make breakfast. My cousin and I made parathas, omelettes and tea and one more cousin joined in to help with breakfast prep. Just as we were serving everything, the doorbell rang. It was another cousin. The one we had begged to come by saying "pleaseee, we won't enjoy without you!" She finally came and joined us for breakfast.
After we served, we tried waking up the last two sleepyheads. One woke up and the other straight-up refused and went back to sleep. So we left her breakfast and carried on.
We checked outside and saw it was too sunny. So we postponed the park plan.
So instead, we laughed till our stomachs hurt, chatted non-stop and decided to download a movie to watch. That one task of downloading a movie took forever. Our WiFi probably went on strike.
In the meantime, we played games and not just any games, the kind that brings out the competitive beast mode. We had so much fun that we barely noticed it was already 4:30 pm.
We decided to watch a movie. We finally started it and watched half of it, then stopped to pray Asar. After that we got ready for the park.
We reached the park around 6 pm and thankfully the weather was breezy, peaceful and green all around.
We bought popcorn.
Then came the mandatory photo session.
Because let's be honest, if cousins meet and don't take pictures, did the meetup even happen?
I even took a mini photo shoot of my sister. She was most excited about the park plan since morning so her energy was next level.
The park was too crowded so we decided to head back home. Back at nani's house, we enjoyed French fries and then began the ultimate sleepover classic: Truth or Dare.
Some chose truth, some chose dare and then came the wildest dare of the night. One of my cousins got dared to prank call someone while pretending to be me. She called my sister from my phone and tried to mimic my voice. At first, my sister caught her… but after a bit, she started talking like she really believed it was me. That is until she handed the phone to my mother. My mother recognized her voice immediately.
We didn't stop there. We prank called some of our cousin's friends and their reactions revealed their true friendship levels. It was hilarious 😂.
