October Days/ Días de octubre

September was a month without any surprises for me. After good summer months when we spend visiting some of my friends in South England and also the time that we decided to have a hiking trip around in Cornwall, we were exhausted and were happy to be back to routine or back to our study. Despite of having September a first autumn month it was mild and relatively warm, we had more sunny days than in spring and that was another reason why we spend much time with my friends outside just for going out. Another event in September was my mother’s birthday, she loves her birthday and always happy when we come together and cook something with her. This time I decided to come a day earlier so that we could prepare some salads and also in the morning to start cooking. I was glad that my mother’s friends all arrived and we have a nice gathering. We pampered our mother and that was a really nice time for her. I love to make her happy and that makes me happy too.

Septiembre fue un mes sin sorpresas para mí. Después de unos buenos meses de verano que pasamos visitando a algunos amigos en el sur de Inglaterra y también de una vez que decidimos hacer una excursión por Cornualles, estábamos agotados y felices de volver a la rutina o a estudiar. A pesar de ser septiembre el primer mes de otoño, fue suave y relativamente cálido, con más días soleados que en primavera, y esa fue otra razón por la que pasamos mucho tiempo con mis amigos al aire libre, simplemente para salir. Otro evento en septiembre fue el cumpleaños de mi madre; le encanta su cumpleaños y siempre se alegra cuando nos juntamos y cocinamos algo con ella. Esta vez decidí llegar un día antes para poder preparar ensaladas y también por la mañana para empezar a cocinar. Me alegró que todos los amigos de mi madre vinieran y tuvimos una reunión agradable. Mimamos a nuestra madre y fue un momento muy agradable para ella. Me encanta hacerla feliz y eso me hace feliz a mí también.
I love October because it is a month of transformation. Everything is changing because in October the days becoming noticeable shorter, that shows its result in leaves of trees, bushes and flowers, they do not have enough daylight and that leads to reduced photosynthesis. Day by day from beginning of October till the end of it we see that there are more leaves turn into yellow colour and later become dry and fall off. Also I love October because of harvesting, fruits ripe and it is time to collect them from trees but also vegetables from fields. The fields are empty and look black ready for winter. October is wonderful time, it is indeed mild temperatures and rain to water soil.

Me encanta octubre porque es un mes de transformación. Todo está cambiando porque en octubre los días se acortan notablemente, lo que se refleja en las hojas de árboles, arbustos y flores, que no reciben suficiente luz natural, lo que reduce la fotosíntesis. Día tras día, desde principios de octubre hasta finales, vemos que más hojas se amarillean y luego se secan y caen. También me encanta octubre por la cosecha: las frutas maduran y es hora de recogerlas de los árboles, pero también las verduras de los campos. Los campos están vacíos y se ven negros, listos para el invierno. Octubre es una época maravillosa, con temperaturas suaves y lluvia que riega la tierra.
Yes, there is one day in October that has a special event that I really love and loved since I was a child and it is Halloween. When I was child and saw all the decorations on a street that made me scary, especially the spider webs or skeletons hanging at the windows. I thought that time that they are real and was wondering why people are not scary and nobody cares about that. Evenings are the most exciting because of darkness but also some of the decorations have special lights that have the movement sensors and lighten up when someone walks by.
I still do some decorations on my house but not so much, I do not want it to be too scary, because I love to have children knocking on my door in their costumes and I love to give them some sweets. It is nice to have this time as all supermarkets have something dedicated for Halloween.

Sí, hay un día de octubre con un evento especial que me encanta desde pequeña: Halloween. De pequeña, veía todas las decoraciones en la calle que me daban miedo, sobre todo las telarañas o los esqueletos colgados en las ventanas. En ese momento pensé que eran reales y me preguntaba por qué la gente no da miedo y a nadie le importa. Las noches son las más emocionantes por la oscuridad, pero también algunas decoraciones tienen luces especiales con sensores de movimiento que se iluminan cuando alguien pasa.
Todavía decoro mi casa, pero no tanto, no quiero que dé demasiado miedo, porque me encanta que los niños llamen a mi puerta disfrazados y les regale dulces. Es genial tener esta época, ya que todos los supermercados tienen algo dedicado a Halloween.
There is no certain goals for October it is just start of my study year, the subjects just started so till my exam and next projects still away in future. So I will just enjoy my time with my friends, visiting the lectures and starting up some projects, we usually have our clubs and setting up the projects for the year. So it is month of preparation and I am going to enjoy it.

No tengo metas definidas para octubre; es el comienzo de mi año académico. Las asignaturas acaban de empezar, así que aún me quedan exámenes y proyectos por delante. Así que simplemente disfrutaré del tiempo con mis amigos, visitando las clases y poniendo en marcha algunos proyectos. Normalmente tenemos nuestros clubes y organizamos los proyectos del año. Así que es un mes de preparación y lo voy a disfrutar.
Like I mentioned before summer months this time we absolutely amazing in UK, we had so many sunny days and high temperatures between +25 to +30C. That is a bit unusual for our country but there are some years when we are lucky. I believe this year in general there was hot summer in the whole Europe. For me my summer energy is still there, I am getting up early at 6 Am without any problem and I am not tired even if I have busy day. Normally it lasts will end of November then closer to December I become more tired and notice that I need more Vitamins and fresh air.

Como mencioné antes, los meses de verano en el Reino Unido fueron increíbles. Tuvimos muchísimos días soleados y temperaturas de entre 25 y 30 °C. Es un poco inusual en nuestro país, pero hay años en los que tenemos suerte. Creo que este año, en general, hubo veranos calurosos en toda Europa. Sigo con la energía del verano; me levanto temprano a las 6 de la mañana sin problemas y no me canso ni siquiera en días ajetreados. Normalmente dura hasta finales de noviembre, pero hacia diciembre me canso más y noto que necesito más vitaminas y aire fresco.
