While writing a good mantra for this contest hosted by @zord189 in the Power House Creatives community, I came across this image that expresses exactly what I want to say for the Happy Mantra Contest.
Happiness Mantra
Today I want to be FREE to BE what I want to BE in a RESPONSIBLE way!
Being a counsellor myself, I see that many people are in bondage to their lives and become very unhappy because they are not freed to live the life they choose to live.
Many people are always living a life that is expected of them, either by their friends, their parents, their families, or their boss. As a result, they become depressed, unhappy, unfrustrated because they cannot express their real self of how they can truly live their life to the fullest.
I learned that as a teen and that is to stop letting people dictate to you how you should live your life. Parents are good at doing that. So are teachers. Not to mention your boss whom you depend on for your job promotion and salary.
We must all control our own life and LIVE in a RESPONSIBLE way.
Being FREE doesn't mean that you go out and become a crook and start cheating on others to get your way. That is not freedom. That is bondage.
Being responsible means that you are going to CHOOSE and MAKE WISE choices of your life to BE FREE to let your real self come out to BLESS other people with the happiness that you have found in your true self.
The true self of happiness always blesses others. It doesn't want to hurt others for its own sake. We need to protect that which is good as it was a gift of life to all babies.
But it is too bad that many people never preserved that real happiness as they grew up and became worse and worse.
Too many people crave for the attention and approval of others. It can be good in a limited sense but never good when it dictates your decision making. You lose yourself in the process. You are not your real you when you live in other people's approval.
Stop that vicious circle in your life!
Come out and let your true self express in a most gentle way that brings happiness to you. When that happens, you also bring happiness to others.
Be responsible to yourself!
Then you also become responsible to the people around you too!
Start today!

Ohh I try, free is not something I am good at... often find myself in the shackles and when thinking I’m free I realize I have shackled myself to something else 🤦♂️

You are so smart @rosatravevls. Being controlled from a young age can create that mindset. It's very difficult to snap free from those old habits. Sense of worth, and self validation are difficult to nurture under those conditions. Wonderful mantra to live by!
