SLC26-W2 // Chocolate Chip Cookies
With my heart full of joy, I'm out to challenge myself to learn different skills. This week I've learned how to make chocolate cookies and it was very tasty, my kids love it.
I took into consideration the tips given and followed the steps accurately to have the perfect result.
To begin, I bought all my ingredients complete and measured them accordingly and set aside to be used.
Make chocolate chip cookies. You can make the recipe presented in this class or another recipe. Using chocolate chips or chunks is mandatory, but you can vary the quantities.
Ingredients
- Butter
- Brown Sugar
- White Sugar
- Vanilla 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose wheat flour
- Baking powder
- Egg
- Ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon
- Chocolate chips

In a bowl I added my flour and baking powder
I added cinnamon powder to it and mix it then set it aside.

I added butter in a bowl getting ready to start mixing all the liquid ingredients
I added brown sugar as seen in the image 2

I added white sugar and mix it thoroughly until it is properly mixed.
This is the extent to which I mixed everything

I added egg and vanilla flavour and mix thouroughly until properly mixed.
Then I add the flour little by little then turn it to fine.

The last I added was chocolate, I added small then remain some for decoration.
I mixed it as well so as the chocolate to be evenly distributed.

I flattened the dough and covered it with a white nylon then refrigerate it for about 2 years
Cut the batter into shapes then flattened with my palms this way as seen in the image

Chocolate is the star ingredient in this recipe. What are your favorite types and brands of chocolates?
I know there are different types of chocolate but then I frequently use one brand and I'm used to that type which is Cadbury Dairy chocolate it is a milk chocolate and it is always creamier and more tasty. It is locally found in my neighborhood at very affordable prices irrespective of the grams
But in this contest, I used dark chocolate in preparing my cookies and it turn out very nice. Dark chocolate always have that bitter like taste but it's always nice as well.
Benefits of using brown sugar?
Generally, brown sugar doesn't have much difference when compares with the white one. Talking about it's benefits, It contains minerals, it aids in digestion, it boast energy just as the white sugar. It can be used for external use on the skin to soothes and glow the skin naturally.
Benefits of brown sugar in the cookies; It adds flavour to the cookies, enhances it tastes and gives it that caramelised sweetness and brownish colour. Brown sugar helps the cookies moisturise rather than being very hard while baking.

Did the final result of your cookies meet your expectations?
Seriously it is my first time of making this type of cookies with chocolate and I didn't actually expect it to come out very fine but I was impressed by the outcome. I have never used brown sugar as well for any pastry but it was also my first time of having a test of brown sugar and it was nice I could say.
In all it turn out more than what I expected it to be, it's really delicious 😋

Hola amiga agradezco la mención las galletas te quedaron muy lindas y se ven muy ricas también, el azúcar morena le agrega dulzor al igual que la azúcar blanca pero está es más sana porque es menos refinada que el azúcar blanca
