COVID 19 Frontliners from Sri Lanka in Moscow
It was March 18th of 2020, we were studying in our final years of medical school. Whole world was seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases; Moscow was one of the hotspots. Hospitals were lacking of equipments and as well as health care professionals. Students, and junior doctors had been called for service. We’ve stepped in to treatment facilities with big enthusiasm. We’ve worked for 5 months in hospitals. We’ve seen patients who had been successfully treated and got through this. Unfortunately we’ve seen a lot of patients were breathing their final breathe in front of us. There were moments when we’ve cried alone inside our dressing rooms. COVID-19 gave us a big opportunity to understand humanity and the strength to serve people without expecting anything. Hope one day whole world will be free of this disaster.
