Inter-school competition and market day

In celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, we, the school principals, organized an event participated by students from Dewantara sub-district. This event was attended by elementary schools. The activities we organized include an inter-school soccer tournament and a quiz competition. The opening ceremony took place on the same day, Thursday, August 7th. The soccer tournament was held at Paloh Gadeng Field, while the quiz competition was conducted at SDIT Iskandar Muda.

Our soccer activities will be held until 11:00 a.m. Each half will last 20 minutes. The match schedule has been adjusted, with six teams participating on the first day. The matches between teams from elementary schools and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah involve 22 schools. Some schools have already advanced to the next round without needing to play. The matches are scheduled to conclude within two weeks.

Since some of my students were participating in an academic competition on the same day, I decided to watch them instead. The football matches for the students will take place on August 11, 2025. After the opening ceremony, I immediately headed to SDIT Iskandar Muda, located within the PT Pupuk Iskandar housing complex. This school is one of the schools with excellent facilities in Aceh Utara District.

This quiz competition runs from morning until 4:00 p.m. We provide lunch and snacks for the participants. All schools participating in this quiz competition, which includes 24 schools, will compete for the first place title, which will represent the Dewantara sub-district at the district level competition scheduled for August 13, 2025.

Interestingly, this school also hosts a market day event. All food and beverages are sold by the students, and we are welcome to purchase them. This activity is held in the school’s spacious inner courtyard. Meanwhile, the academic competition is conducted in the school’s front yard under a tent.

I participated in the event, especially since this is where I used to work before becoming a civil servant and now serving as a school principal. The event ended at 1:00 p.m., so we immediately focused on the quiz competition, which SDIT Iskandar Muda won, and they will represent the Dewantara subdistrict at the district level.
