How Much Bitcoin Do CEXs Keep in Their Reserves?
In the wake of the new $111k Bitcoin ATH I was checking some odd BTC statistics and i saw a statement about CEXs BTC PoR ratio.
When Gateio introduced Proof of Reserve (PoR) it wasn't really taken seriously until after the disasters FTX... then attention shifted and questions were asked if & where CEXs stash their digital cash.
PoR have been a good measure of transparency standards of CEXs in recent times and digging deeper, the top five that published their PoR have above 100%, which is a win for anyone using them.
Binance is just over the line at 100.77%, while OKX and MEXC show solid buffers at 114% and 117.53%. Bybit’s 104.4% is also reassuring.
But then there’s Bitget, with insane 369%, it’s like they’re shouting....
“We’ve got you covered"
“We’ve got you covered"
“We’ve got you covered" + 69%...
As crypto grows up, I expect PoR to become a must-have, not a bonus. For now, it’s cool to see these big names leading the charge.
What are your thoughts about CEXs BTC reserve?
Ohh i couldn't find any thing about Coinbase really... any ideas about theirs guys? I only saw cbBTC, can i add it to this chart? Why do you think Bitget wet above and beyond?
