I read that article from the former Inuit and Paypal CEO. I thought the same way as Dave. 'What about stocks?' I thought to myself. I remember I got jipped when some guy I was part of a mailing list for said to buy into a penny stock, it was going to go to the moon, so I put in a couple hundred bucks and before I knew it, it crashed and was worthless. I had to pay my stock broker just to get rid of it.
I sent the article to one of my friends and he said it sounded like something from the Onion.
