Football and crypto industry find a mutually beneficial partnership.

The world football community is becoming more and more crypto-oriented all the time. Following in the footsteps of smaller, less well-known clubs, the leading football leagues and renowned powerhouse clubs are gradually getting involved in the issue of tokens and partnering with blockchain projects. There are now seven clubs in the English Premier League that have signed partnership agreements with the crypto investment platform eToro (paid in bitcoin, by the way), and the TigerWit project, which is launching a new blockchain-based trading app for access to global markets, has become an official partner of last year’s Champions League finalist Liverpool. In France, the highly decorated club Paris Saint-Germain is issuing fan tokens that allow fans to participate directly in the life of the club; taking their cue from their colleagues in Paris, Juventus, winner of Italy’s Serie A for the past seven years in a row, is planning to hold a Fan Token Offering, its own version of an ICO. This has obviously already become a bona fide trend - not surprising considering the breakneck development of the crypto industry. What we are talking about here is mutual (and mutually beneficial) interest.

By stepping onto this unfamiliar new pitch, football clubs are showing that they are in step with the times, are ready to use blockchain innovations to forge new ways to interact with their fans, and that they know how to use hype to their advantage, of course. For its part, the crypto industry understands full well what a gigantic, passionately devout, and loyal fanbase football has behind it, and how much marketing potential the sport has. You would be hard pressed to find a better place to advertise and promote crypto projects. To put it in football jargon, an effective and winning combination in every sense, a well-deserved draw which both leaves both sides feeling like the victor.
