Exactly. We have to spend a certain number of our lives doing things that are necessary, like cleaning, cooking and grooming ourselves and our loved ones. Modern man has more leisure time than before electricity and modern conveniences. We may have to work at a 40 hour a week job that we don't like but we can still use whatever leisure time we have to either engage in long term dreams and goals. And like you said, a change of attitude can even change that 40 hour paycheck into a character or excellence challenge.

I have found that those people that engage the monotony with courage, that take on the daily grind are people that are able to overcome whatever challenges they face - if its socio-economic, upbringing, education, or whatever...those that take on the daily grind almost always overcome and create success on their landscape...thanks for reading
