The dog is no liar, sad to say. He found, and ate, a deer leg, and he's far too quick and strong and agile for me to stop him. Our neighbor had a German Shepherd who'd burst through the electric fence, tolerating any amount of pain in order to pursue whatever moved across the road. When it comes to venison, there is no reasoning with our dogs. No threat or punishment to help them resist temptation. *sigh
