It's lovely to see any news that triggers peoples' empathy, and relegates the reigning fools to the back page for even an instant.
Certainly grumpycat did more to bring people together than these clowns. I'm surprised to learn that she was only seven! I'd have thought the memes were around for much longer.
Too bad she died so young. Hard to lose an animal at any age, but so much harder when they die in what should have been their prime.

My Bear Kitty leapt into my lap a moment ago, and he's twice the age of Grumpy Cat. He'll be fifteen in November, and I can't imagine my life without him.
Awwww. We need scientists to work on getting our pets to last about as long as we do!
Indeed. Marek was saying the day before that Bear is in his eighties in cat years, and it was all I could do not to tell him to shut the hell up.
