Dealing with depression is not an easy thing, you want to break free, you know you are depressed but you just can't lift a finger. There is a voice that stops you from doing most of the things that can get you out of that condition, it tells you that no one cares or will give a damn, it tells you that you look awful and shouldn't go out, e.t.c fighting depression requires a big junk of energy, it proves difficult but is not impossible.

You don't have to be in a depressed state to read this article, truth is that a depressed person might not even come online. It's proper for you to have prior knowledge about it so that when you find yourself in that state, you will know what to do.

THE WAY OUT

Speak Up

You have to silence that voice that deprives you from opening up to anyone, you will need external help to win the battle between you and depression so don't let it cut you off from others. Find that friend,sister or brother that is a good listener, tell him or her how you feel and why you are depressed. Sometimes saying it out alone is enough healing power, you listen to yourself and maybe realise that the situation is not worth you being depressed. Your listeners attention and reply can also help you get out of it. If you can't find anyone in your circle that you can open up or talk to, talk to God, he is ever available.

Know That You Are Not Alone

You can search for people that have been through what you are depressed about and get to know how they scaled through. The mere knowledge that you aren't alone and not the only one in that shoe can relieve you.

Socialise

This might be difficult because putting your self together to go out might not be easy but do it anyway. Change your environment, go for a walk, hang out,listen to music, watch a movie, put yourself out there. You know all those fun activities you enjoy but your initial state makes them unattractive, do it. You will surely get healed by putting yourself out.

Stay Healthy

Don't deprive yourself a good sleep and meal.. good health improves the mood, if you lack apetitie you can use drugs that can help improve your appetite. Drink a lot of water, exercise, eat fruits and look good.

Show Love

It might seem like you lack love the most and need love and care to feel better. Caring for someone and showing love at that state can boost your mood. Play with kids or pets, surprise someone, make someone feel better and karma will take over the rest.

Think Less

The more you think, the more depressed you get. Don't give that inner voice any opportunity to take control of you, keep yourself busy. When negative thoughts wants to take over remember the good times and speak positivity to your presence.

Get Professional Help

Most people do not take depression serious yet a good number of people have lost their mind or committed suicide from being depressed. Depression is not a healthy state, it's a mental problem that needs attention, don't take it likey. If you can't save your self seek professional care.

All these might seem difficult when you are depressed but staying depressed is not easy either... don't dwell in it, get out!

We should also look after others whenever we sense depression in them do all you can to care for them.
