RE: I found it!!! two flutes playing at Christmas-Eve :-) .... Ich hab es gefunden!!! das Flötenspiel von Heilig-Abend :-)

You may recall that I was posting pictures using my cell phone. I haven't had a decent camera since my house burned down in 2007 so I used Steemit as an excuse to buy something new.

I wasn't going to be too fussy; I'm not much of a photographer, but I didn't want something cheap either. I settled on a Panasonic Lumix with a Leica 30x zoom lens. I wanted the zoom mostly. When I got it home I found it had just about every feature you could imagine. It's 4K, which, I guess is about as state of the art you can get in pixel density. It also has a point-and-shoot function, which is nice for me, but it also does everything that can be done with a camera: regular video, time lapse, macro, snap movies, shutter and aperture priority etc. The manual that came with it was 80 or so pages but the online manual is way over 400!

Like Steemit, there is quite a learning curve, but I'm having fun with it and now take it with me wherever I go. At my current rate of return on Steemit (without whale intervention, that is) it will be paid off in only 436 years.

For under $300, it seems to be everything a person could want in a camera. The only downside is that it's sort of delicate: no dust or moisture and for god's sake don't drop it. Works for me.

With both youngest kids going through scarlet over the past days (and nights!!) I managed finally today to go to the store and get myself a Panasonic Lumix :-) Took the TZ 71 because the salesman said it would work perfectly for taking pictures outside and inside the house ;-) Back for more later on! But your advice was really helpfull!!!! big hug!

Scarlet? As in Scarlet fever? Yikes!

Hope you enjoy your new camera as much as I enjoy mine.

Yap, scarlet fever... they are over the worst of it, but still recovering :-) I will read the manual for the camera tonight and hopefully get it all set up for some first pictures tomorrow :-)
