Our Solar Gear Came In - Fedex Fiasco - New Tiny House Big Island Hawaii

The Fedex website sucks. I signed up for SMS alerts and emails so I would be sure not to miss the delivery yesterday. I went on the website every half an hour to monitor the shipment so I would be sure I would not miss it. The website showed the package was still at the airport and when it said that it left the facility I waited 1/2 an hour then went to the new Tiny House because the drive from the airport takes over an hour to our Tiny House. I sat on the porch until it got too hot then I waited in the car for two hours checking the site for any updates. Nothing. WTF.

Then all of a sudden it showed a delivery failure over 3 hours ago. WTF.

I called up and the representative who is in some call center somewhere in the world apologized and said there was nothing they could do. I told them I was scheduled to leave on the first flight so I could make it to work. The rep said I could either pick it up, have it delivered, or have it sent back to the shipper. WTF.

I said I would pick it up and told them to hold the packages at the facility at the airport. I changed my flight and rented a pickup truck for the next day. I ate dinner and went to sleep because the next day was going to be a long day.

I woke up early and drove to the airport. Over an hour later I returned the car and rented the truck. Then I drove to the Fedex facility to be sure I was first in line when it opened at 8am.

When I got to the counter the lady at the counter told me she got no hold requests and the packages were probably out for delivery. I told her I called the number at 6pm the previous day and 4am this morning to confirm everything was held. She then said she going to look in the back. WTF,

When she came back she started giving me a bad time because there were no numbers on the house. I told her it was under construction and I waited outside for hours. She continued to give me a bad time. Then when I asked her if it would fit in the back of the Pickup Truck she replied, "What do you think it fit in the Fedex Van?" WTF.

I was trying not to get mad and just said it was "neither here nor there." A guy came out with the packages and I put the Solar Panels in the bed of the truck and the two other boxes in the back and started my hour drive to the new Tiny House.

I dropped off the boxes and had a hard time getting the heavier box in the Tiny House because it was very heavy. Once I got everything in the house I packed up and turned around for the hour drive back to the airport. I was so tired I was worried I was going to doze off. So I blasted Tupac, Biggie, NWA, and Eminem and made it to the airport.

Once I boarded the plane I sat in the seat and literally passed out. I woke up when the plane landed in Honolulu.

What a day!
