Pursuing my hobby

Last month I had visited a friend's place and there I saw this frame which is cross-stitch hand embroidered. It took me to flashback times, in my teens I had this hobby of doing embroidery work and cross-stitch was one of my favorites. I used to make cross-stitch frames and gift it to my family members. I never thought it pursuing as a business because it was too much time consuming. One frame would take me 3 to 4 months to complete, and it was just a hobby then. I had got this skill from my granny and aunt who were in to embroidery business. My aunt had a full fledged business on it and she always expected me to take it over. With time as she aged her business also started going down, and at that time I had other plans. I wanted a corporate job so this always remained as a hobby.

Then I got a job, got married, had a family and in all of that this hobby got left behind and over a period of time it also went out of my mind. Couple of times I thought of it, but then there was not enough zeal and I was occupied in all the family affairs so no time as well. When I saw the frame at my friend's place, the past instantly flashed and I was getting a strong urge to start on it once again. Now I have some time also at hand. so it would be nice to get back to doing things I loved at some point of time, and love it now also.

I was not sure of my skills, which have not been put in use since more then 30 years now, so I ordered a small frame to start with. The picture is of seven horses, it is considered to be a lucky picture to be kept at home, that's the reason I selected this particular picture.

The threads have also been sent by them.

I have already started working on it. My strategy is to go line and color wise. So I will work on 4 lines vertically together at a time. It's a 2 ft x 1 ft piece, it's small, but I guess still it's going to take me couple of months to complete.

This is what was displayed on the site that I purchased from, though the thread colors they have sent are not exactly the same, which they have mentioned on their site as well.

I have decided to spend daily 2 to 3 hours on it. Will use the afternoon time which I normally laze out or watch T..V. This was also one of the reason, I want to start something meaningful to use my time, and when I saw this, I felt it would be nice activity to use my spare time, which normally goes waste.
