RE: The Moment Merkel Realized Trump Changes Everything for Germany

in #dlike6 years ago

Germans grew up looking to the US as big brother and role model... unfortunately the big brother is now bullying them frequently...
.. so there will be a point of no return where the little dog, also knowing he is without a chance.. will bite back, regardless of the negative consequences..
the only hope I see is, that these are only deal tactics of Mr super dealer.. but the hope is fading with every new tweet from POTUS...

what nobody seems to remember is, that the US with the help of WTO and worldbank have forced industrial countries and developing countries alike to tear down any tariffs with sometimes very bad effects... so after the US was profiting for several decades now that the pendulum strikes back the US just changes the rules...
.. this of course does not make friends...

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man is a partly autobiographical book written by John Perkins published in 2004. It provides Perkins' account of his career with engineering consulting firm Chas. T. Main in Boston. According to Perkins, his job at Main was to convince leaders of underdeveloped countries to accept substantial development loans for large construction and engineering projects that would primarily help the richest families and local elites, rather than the poor, while making sure that these projects were contracted to U.S. companies.
