Who's to say that one's Ledger S Nano device wasn't interdicted or compromised at the factory?

If you're too dependent on these devices for your life to operate, you're screwed. There's no absolute secure way to store crypto. In the end, if you want to ensure your livelihood, the only answer is to stay heavily armed and self sufficient.
