RE: DOER-MINNOW UPDATE #13 (DOER-MINNOW CHANGES)
So that's what you'e been doing, lol.
I think what you were doing was a cool thing. I think the change is cool too. But let me warn you: it will probably be ân entirely new experience.
With the minnows, you knew that were going for it, that they were here to stay. You never know with newcomers.
You can get lucky and win first prize by crossing the path of a gem like @dkkarolien, but people like that are more the exception than the rule.
I don't know what your criteria will be, but maybe it would be a good idea to check out the people featured in the posts by @heyhaveyamet. Check the posts that are about a week old. That way, you can see if the newcomers have actually tried during their first week, and you can get an idea whether they have some value to add. Still no guarantee, though. I have had more dropouts than successes.
Would you mind tagging me in the posts you make about this. I have notifications set up on Gina, but often I don't have time to check Gina notifications for days... I do try to check my mentions every day. I'd really like to be reminded to follow up 😉

Thanks for the insight and helpful link. I know it will be a challenge. But truthfully with the coming HF I think the newcomers will be able to grow a little quicker, using curation.(without the need of relying on posts) Teaching curation to the newcomers will probably be a central point in helping them grow. Along with engagement and how to be a helpful Steemian. As for if they stick around or not... I figure there is a better chance that they will with help then without it. And I at least should try. I already invested here as a means of being able to help, so i might as well try to keep the ball rolling. I am going to stay hopeful and believe we can do it. And thank you for all you do and for being so supportive of me. You are the best!🤗🤗
Right back at ya! 😉
I just read a post by @abitcoinskeptic that made me realize what we're doing now might not have any effect after HF21.
I'm too stupid to process all of it, but it looks like 50SP ain't gonna cut it in the future... :0(
I agree that the upcoming changes "may" drastically affect how Steemit works. It is part of the reason i was wanting to wait before beginning this phase of The Project. But I needed some (newbie)data to watch before the change.(i.e. voting, curation, SP to VP vote strength ratios and so on) This way I would have a backdrop to use as a comparison with the same data sets after the HF. So, I onboarded 3 and i am letting the info build. I also have been reading a lot on the newest changes, and while i don't know if it ultimately good or bad for our community, I am prepared to make adjustments as needed. Just like after the last HF,(when i freaked out about the changes) we will just have to learn the system and do the best we can. At times, I don't know about this place....but as long as there are new people wanting to be here, I want to be here also. I think about people like you and the others I've met here. And I know I don't want to miss out on any other great relationships just because i gave up. Love you and thanks for all your continued support and all you do for our great community. I hope your ants are enjoying all those great plants you grow for them.😁😂🤣
Exactly my thoughts. I can't even imagine my life without all these great people I've met here. And I'm learning new stuff every day. You can't imagine how much I've learned about myself this last 20 months, just by interacting with people.
I won't leave, unless everyone is going with me 😂
And true, we survived HF20... how much worse can it be?
