Mange recovery in abandoned pups

in #dogs22 hours ago

Not long ago we had one of our first cases of a mange outbreak among a little of pups to the same mama. Pups normally don't mange as easily here because I guess because they are young and they have a great immune system but that wasn't the case this time as all the pups had gotten mange and tracks of hair loss was already occurring on their backs.

Other pups in the litter had the same kind of look but then we asked a vet if we could treat them with medication and were told about a Bravecto product that is meant for puppies. While the adult one would most likely be fine as well we didn't want to put too much of a drug into a small dog and this product is widely available and very cheap anyway, so we just went with the puppy verson.

you can see in this pic that the fur has grown back completely and there are better shots as well

These are temple dogs now as they were dropped off in the night, which tends to be the case. We are doing our best along with the monks to make sure they are looked after.

here is another shot of how well the fur can regrow if you simply tend to it with this product that costs just a few dollars per treatment.

This is another one of the siblings with a luxuriously full coat of fur.

All the pups seem to be in great health and they are friendly as can be also. We have already put them up for adoption but thus far there hasn't been much in the way of interest. I may have mentioned that quite a few years ago the USA changed their dog import policy and now it is really difficult for us to send dogs there and that is a shame because that was where 75% of our foster dogs were headed. With all the issues that country is having right now I don't think that dogs are really a big-ticket item at the moment so I doubt these policies that they changed will be addressed anytime soon.

If you see a dog with mange in your area just know that helping them to recover from this problem is just one treat away. The edible Bravecto and many other products like it only costs a couple of USD and it can really change their lives and who knows? By helping the dog it might change your life as well!
