The Silence of Waiting

Have you ever waited for someone?
Alone at noon, sitting by the window, silently?
Looking at the sky, floating in the clouds
Thinking—here She comes…
Have you ever picked up the phone again and again, hoping to see a number?
Maybe She will come, say—“I’m late, how are you?”

If you have never waited for someone like this,
then how can you understand this pain of mine?
The pain that only trembles and freezes in the chest
Becoming the cold ice of neglect.

I wait for you,
Hour after hour, moment after moment.
Morning rolls into noon,
Afternoon into evening, then night slowly falls.
Street lights turn on,
People return home with their own tiredness.
But I stay silent,
Sitting in hope— Maybe you will come.

The sun sets in the west,
Birds call, the moon comes with a soft light,
tearing the sky's chest

The stars twinkle,
Some memories float in the wind.
Still, there is no response from you.
Not a word, not a glance.

The moonlight will fade one day,
The tidal waves will stop in the silent sea.
A new sun will rise in the eastern sky,
The colors of the world will awaken in the light.
But that
one piece of darkness will remain in my life—your absence.

I know, one day this waiting will also end.
There will be no more hope, no more face floating in my eyes.
That continuous waiting-clock of the heart will stop.
The glow of love will fade,
Still...
The path I was sitting on for you,
That path will remain unknown forever.

Then no one else will understand,
How I loved you,
How I waited with every breath,
Just once
To look into your face.
