Micah's Peace Offering | Arthur Morgan's Untold Adventures, Part 25

A few days had passed and there was still no sign of Micah. I’d already told my people at camp that I’d busted him out of jail. He said he’d hole up somewhere near Strawberry, do some camping, and come back with a “peace offering” for Dutch.
But he was still missing, and people started whispering that maybe I never broke him out at all. Truth is, Micah and I didn’t get along. Never did. That probably made it harder for the others to believe me. Either way, I was tired of the talk, so I rode out to find him myself and settle it.
I found him lounging at a little camp on a cliff with a hell of a view, acting like nothing was wrong. He greeted me like an old friend, but I wasn’t feeling that friendly. I asked him if he needed rescuing again. He laughed and said he had a plan to make things right.
I reminded him about his other plans, like the ferry job in Blackwater (which turned out to be disaster for all of us), or the last time he went only for scouting and wound up in jail. He just shrugged it off and threw out some nonsense Dutch once said about me being a big shadow cast by a tiny tree. I didn’t even know what that meant. Then he started calling me soft, like some gentleman trying to protect his fancy riding clothes.
I told him straight that every time things get real, he loses his head. But still, he offered me a job. A banking coach was passing through near Strawberry, and he claimed he heard an O’Driscoll talking about it in jail. Probably the same O’Driscoll that he murdered while escaping from the jail. I told him the banks had been hiring tougher guards lately, but he waved it off. Said I worry too much.
We headed out, and he went on about needing something to take back to Dutch. I asked how he and Lenny even ended up out there. He gave some half-answer about loose ends and drinking, like always. I warned him his messes tend to get the rest of us in trouble. That shootout in Strawberry was because of him, all to get his damn guns back.
He just told me to loosen up, like none of it mattered.
We reached a ridge above the road and waited. He said the coach would come soon, and it did. A couple guards riding with it. I told him not to lose his head this time. He promised he wouldn’t.

We hit the coach fast. Took out the guards, chased it down, and finally dropped the driver. Micah hopped on and tossed me a new rifle like it was some kind of prize. Said it suited me better than him. I asked if we should just crack the thing open right there. He said it might be too much to carry, and maybe there was a second crew following.
Things were going smoothly then suddenly a tree dropped in front of us.

Mask-wearing bastards came pouring out from behind it. O’Driscolls. They opened fire, and we had no choice but to fight our way out. We headed for the river, bullets flying. Somehow, we made it.
Dead O’Driscolls floated behind us, and we were still breathing.
We finally opened the lockbox. Full of cash. Micah grinned like he’d just pulled off a miracle. I reminded him the gang gets its share. I told him to get back to Dutch and make sure he wasn’t being followed. He gave me a salute and rode off, proud of his so-called peace offering.
I still didn’t trust him. But at least now the camp would know I told the truth.

Disclaimer
Arthur Morgan and the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be fictional creations by Rockstar Games, but my love for this game? 100% real. This is a new kind of adventure I wanted to bring to Steemit. I’m narrating the story of RDR2 from the perspective of its protagonist, Arthur Morgan, offering a fresh and immersive take on his journey. Rather than directly copying the game’s dialogues, I’m weaving Arthur’s emotions and experiences into a creative and fictional retelling. You can also experience this story in a cinematic way. I play the game, record my gameplay, edit the footage in the best possible way, and upload it to my YouTube channel. This way, after reading each story episode, you can watch it unfold like a movie.
