New Camp, Old Troubles | Arthur Morgan's Untold Adventures, Part 28

It had only been a few days since we left Horseshoe Overlook, and I could tell folks were already missing it. That spot was near perfect. But after the O’Driscolls, the Pinkertons, and the law got after us following that mess in Valentine, we had no choice but to move on.

Sometimes I wonder things would be different if we had listened to Hosea back in Colter and stayed away from that Cornwall’s train. But one thing was certain by now: Cornwall was not about to let us go so easy.

Word spread through camp that a gang calling themselves the Lemoyne Raiders was active around here. If they found out we were camped nearby, they would not exactly give us a friendly welcome.

Dutch had folks taking turns on guard duty so we would not get caught off guard.

I decided to head into Rhodes, the closest town, just to look around and see what kind of law they had. Maybe learn if we could keep our heads down here. I was just getting ready when I heard a ruckus back at camp.

Sadie Adler and Pearson (Our cook) were shouting and waving knives at each other, acting like they might kill one another. Sadie was yelling that she would murder someone if she had to stay cooking, and Pearson was telling her to quit hissing or he would chop her hand off.

I stepped in and told them to quit. Sadie made it clear she was no scullery maid and wanted real work. I told her fine, she could come with me on a supply run. Pearson handed me a list along with a letter he wanted sent.

Sadie was still mad while we rode out, making fun of Pearson’s letter and mocking him every chance she got.

When we reached town, I posted the letter while Sadie went to buy supplies. She was tearing into the shopkeeper, but she managed to get what we needed.

Heading back, she wanted to drive the wagon, so I let her. That was when a group of Lemoyne Raiders tried to stop us, claiming we had to pay a toll. Before I could calm it down, Sadie shot one of them in the gut, and a gunfight kicked off. I had to back her up, bullets flying everywhere.

When it was over, Sadie looked like she had been waiting for a fight her whole life. I was still shocked to see this violent side of Sadie. I tried reminding her this kind of chaos so close to camp was dangerous, but she did not care.

The truth is, she did alright out there, even if she was reckless. I have got some respect for her now, though I doubt she will ever settle down. Between her fiery spirit and the trouble always following us, life sure was not getting any calmer. But if I am being honest, maybe I would not have it any other way.

Disclaimer

Arthur Morgan and the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be fictional creations by Rockstar Games, but my love for this game? 100% real. This is a new kind of adventure I wanted to bring to Steemit. I’m narrating the story of RDR2 from the perspective of its protagonist, Arthur Morgan, offering a fresh and immersive take on his journey. Rather than directly copying the game’s dialogues, I’m weaving Arthur’s emotions and experiences into a creative and fictional retelling. You can also experience this story in a cinematic way. I play the game, record my gameplay, edit the footage in the best possible way, and upload it to my YouTube channel. This way, after reading each story episode, you can watch it unfold like a movie.

Sadie appears to be a fearless woman who resembles Arthur. Your writing skills for this story have grown more than earlier. Good luck with your success.

¡Saludos amigo!🤗

Como dicen por allí "Cuando un problema no fue realmente resulto, más temprano que tarde vuelve a surgir" y, en este relato se ratifica esa teoría.

Excelente historia amigo... Un fuerte abrazo💚
