Should've Left Him There | Arthur Morgan's Untold Adventures, Part 24

Last night was a damn mess. Me and Lenny got so drunk that we had no clue what we were doing. We were supposed to just have one drink, nothing more. But we ended up drinking many, blacking out, forgetting all about the real reason we went out in the first place. I was meant to ride to Strawberry and break Micah out of jail.
When I came to senses, I cleaned up, got dressed, had some breakfast, and headed out. I figured I’d come up with a story to feed the sheriff and find out if Micah was really locked up in there.
I knocked on the sheriff’s door, told him I was from Blackwater and tracking Colm O’Driscoll then I asked if they’d seen any trouble. He said they didn’t deal with bounty hunters. But he let slip about a fight where two men got killed. One was a fool, the other an Irish idiot. Sounded like Micah had been involved. Sheriff said I’d know more when they hang them.
As I turned to leave, I heard Micah yelling from inside the jail. That confirmed it. He was in there.
I made my way around back and found a small barred window. Micah spotted me and started calling out. He begged me to get him out. I told him I hadn’t decided yet, just messing with him.
He said he looked up to me, which I told him was his first mistake. I reminded him there was only one of me and a whole town wanting to see him hang.
He pointed toward an old steam winch nearby and said we could use it to pull out the window bars. I was thinking about blasting the wall with dynamite, but his plan was cleaner. So I rigged up the winch, gave it a few good pulls, and out came the bars. Micah scrambled out.

Then, without warning, he killed his cellmate. There goes our cover!
I yelled at him, asking what the hell he was doing. He said the man was an O’Driscoll, like that made it alright. The sheriff came running and people started yelling to call the marshals. I told Micah to run, but he said he had unfinished business and to trust him.
I was getting furious. I should’ve left him in that cell to rot...
We ran through the town, shooting back at the law. Micah said the law had something of his and he wasn’t leaving without it. We ducked around corners, gunned down anyone in our way. I kept telling him we should be long gone, but he insisted on finding someone he called Skinny.
We reached a house. Micah started yelling for Skinny, who said his name was Norman. Micah didn’t care. He stormed in, said they had his guns, and started shooting again. I told him we could have left quietly, but he just kept saying he didn’t leave loose ends.
Eventually, we reached our horses and rode out of town. But we weren’t clear yet. The law chased us through the woods, hot on our tails. We shot back, trying to lose them. Micah was yelling like a madman the whole time. I told him I should’ve left him to hang. He said they were thinning the herd. I said we should’ve never been in this mess in the first place.
After a while, the shooting stopped. Micah figured we’d lost them. He handed me a holster as a thank-you, said it was for helping him. I told him my day had been nice and quiet until he dragged me into a bloodbath.

He laughed and asked why I was always so sour. I told him he wasn’t funny, so he should quit trying. Then he got all sentimental, said we were family now, sons of Dutch, brothers who make mistakes and blah blah...
He said he wasn’t going back to Dutch just yet. Claimed he needed a peace offering first. Told me to come visit his little camp behind Strawberry sometime. Then he said that he’d try to make things right.
I don’t know what kind of peace offering he had in his mind. And I don’t know what kind of trouble he’s walking into next. But knowing Micah, it ain’t gonna be anything good.

Disclaimer
Arthur Morgan and the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be fictional creations by Rockstar Games, but my love for this game? 100% real. This is a new kind of adventure I wanted to bring to Steemit. I’m narrating the story of RDR2 from the perspective of its protagonist, Arthur Morgan, offering a fresh and immersive take on his journey. Rather than directly copying the game’s dialogues, I’m weaving Arthur’s emotions and experiences into a creative and fictional retelling. You can also experience this story in a cinematic way. I play the game, record my gameplay, edit the footage in the best possible way, and upload it to my YouTube channel. This way, after reading each story episode, you can watch it unfold like a movie.

¡Saludos amigo!🤗
Dejarlo en la celda, es algo que yo también hubiese hecho jajajaja y, no es que sea cruel, pero hay cosas que se deben castigar y, esta es una de ellas.
Te envío un fuerte abrazo💚
