When Plans Go Loud | Arthur Morgan's Untold Adventures, Part 22

I’d already dropped the oil wagon off where we planned. John had delivered the ammo and rifles earlier to that place as well, so everything was ready for the train job. He and Charles rode ahead, and I said I’d catch up after wrapping up a few things back at the camp.

When I got to the spot, I expected them. Instead, I found Sean taking potshots at bottles and missing more than hitting due to his shitty aim. That was unexpected. I thought it was just going to be me, John, and Charles.

I gave Sean some grief, told him maybe shooting wasn’t for him. He snapped back, said I always left him out, running jobs with everyone but him. I told him straight that I didn’t want to get shot by accident. That only half-shut him up. He kept poking at me, trying to get under my skin.

He begged to come along. I hesitated. This wasn’t a show, it was some serious work. We needed calm heads. Then he said if I wouldn’t take him, I might as well bring Micah. That pushed me over. I agreed, but I knew I’d regret it.

Soon after, John and Charles arrived later that evening. John looked annoyed to see Sean, said he had told him to stay out of it. Sean claimed I said it was fine. I didn’t argue. We had work to do.

I drove the wagon while we talked it over. Charles let the horses loose so they’d run along. John had picked a good stretch of track, far from town but visible enough that the train would spot the wagon. We figured it would stop. Just a few guards expected, nothing serious.

Sean wouldn’t shut up the entire ride. Teased John about his face, accused him of doing nothing while we handled everything. Charles looked about ready to punch him, and I wouldn’t have blamed him.

We set the wagon across the tracks and got in position. I climbed on top to make sure the train stopped, which it did. I climbed aboard.

John and I moved through the passenger cars, collecting valuables. Some folks gave it up easy. Others needed “convincing”. John held the sack, I kept the rifle aimed. It went quick.

I headed to the baggage car, expecting Sean to be in already. He was standing there, hadn’t even gone in. Just as I reached him, a guard burst out and knocked him down. I took care of the man, along with two more who followed. Sean got up, angry and rattled, but fine.

I told him to stand watch while I searched the car. Found a good haul. These passengers packed light but expensive.

Then Sean spotted trouble. Two lawmen coming down the tracks. I thought maybe we could scare them off. More followed behind, rifles ready. We took cover. They shouted demands. I answered with lead.

They came hard from both sides. We held them back. Charles kept calling their positions, John fired beside me, and Sean, loud as always, did his part. We dropped every last one of them.

Once the area was clear, we called the horses and rode out fast. More would be on the way.

We regrouped a few miles out. Sean was thrilled with himself. I handed everyone their cut. Sean complained it wasn’t enough. I reminded him he wasn’t even meant to be there.

The take was solid. Not life-changing, but good. Still, something felt off. The law came too fast. John wondered if it was a setup. I didn’t think so, but it was odd. Charles asked if someone from Blackwater might have tipped them off or tracked us. Could be.

John said he’d ride to Valentine to scout the next move. We all agreed to split and lay low for a while. No heat, no trouble. We’d regroup when things settled.

Sean gave a nod and said, “Of course, boss.” Then we all went our separate ways.

Disclaimer

Arthur Morgan and the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be fictional creations by Rockstar Games, but my love for this game? 100% real. This is a new kind of adventure I wanted to bring to Steemit. I’m narrating the story of RDR2 from the perspective of its protagonist, Arthur Morgan, offering a fresh and immersive take on his journey. Rather than directly copying the game’s dialogues, I’m weaving Arthur’s emotions and experiences into a creative and fictional retelling. You can also experience this story in a cinematic way. I play the game, record my gameplay, edit the footage in the best possible way, and upload it to my YouTube channel. This way, after reading each story episode, you can watch it unfold like a movie.

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗
