Where the Line Is Drawn | Arthur Morgan's Untold Adventures, Part 16

I was wandering around the camp, just stretching my legs, when I spotted Charles sitting off in the distance. He was totally absorbed in sharpening his hunting knife with a rock, so focused he didn’t even notice me coming up towards him. I stood there for a moment, watching him work with such intensity, and then asked what he was getting ready for. That’s when he finally looked up and told me he was planning to go hunt bison.
The mention of bison caught me off guard. I hadn’t seen any around our camp and honestly thought there weren’t any in the area. But Charles explained that he’d spotted a few out by the plains earlier in the day.
As he got up to head out, I wished him luck. Then, out of nowhere, he turned to me and asked if I wanted to come along. Said he’d show me how to hunt them. I figured why not, and we saddled up and rode out together.
A little while into the ride, we spotted a herd of bison grazing not too far ahead. Charles pointed them out to me, clearly in awe of the sheer sight of them. He said we should only take one, and laid out the plan. Said he’d try to keep them bunched up while I picked one off, clean and quick. I gave him the nod and we took off toward the herd.

The bison gave us a run for our money, but eventually I managed to bring one down with my throwing axe. After the adrenaline rush wore off, I skinned the animal and strapped the heavy hide onto my horse. It wasn’t easy because you know those hides of bison weigh a lot.
Just as we were about to head back, Charles noticed a bunch of scavenger birds circling in the distance. He suggested we check it out, curious about what had drawn them in. When we got there, the sight was unsettling. Three bison, all freshly killed, just lying there rotting. It was obvious someone had shot them for fun and walked away, leaving the carcasses behind. No intention of using the meat or the hides. Just waste.
We were both pissed. I mean, we hunt too, sure but never like that. We take what we need, and that’s it.
Charles spotted some tracks nearby and said we should follow them, try to figure out who was behind it.
Not long after, we came across another dead bison. This one looked like it had been shot just recently. Charles figured whoever did it might still be in the area. He suggested we climb to higher ground to get a better view.
That’s when we noticed smoke rising to the north. It looked like it could be a camp, so we decided to check it out. We rode fast, and by the time we got close, the sun was starting to set.
At the camp, we found two men sitting around looking like typical poachers. Charles marched right up to them and demanded to know if they were the ones who shot those bison. One of the guys stood up, acting all defensive, and gave us attitude.
Charles pressed again, this time more forcefully, but then things took a nasty turn. One of the poachers threw a racial slur at Charles, and that set him off. He again shouted at them, demanding an answer.
The other guy admitted they were the ones who did it and then, bold as anything, threatened to shoot us if we didn’t leave. He reached for his gun, but Charles was faster. In one swift move, he pulled out his sawed-off shotgun and shot the guy dead before he could do a thing.
The other man panicked. He said he had a family and begged not to be shot. I grabbed his collar, punched him once, and asked why they were doing it. That was when he confessed. They were being paid to kill as many bison as they could to make it look like Native Indian tribes were responsible.

Charles wanted to kill him too. But I stopped him. I told him the man didn’t need to die. Maybe he would go back and tell the others what happens to poachers who mess with the land.
Charles said he had seen enough. He mounted his horse and told me he was heading back to camp. I stood there for a moment and let out a long, tired sigh.

Disclaimer
Arthur Morgan and the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be fictional creations by Rockstar Games, but my love for this game? 100% real. This is a new kind of adventure I wanted to bring to Steemit. I’m narrating the story of RDR2 from the perspective of its protagonist, Arthur Morgan, offering a fresh and immersive take on his journey. Rather than directly copying the game’s dialogues, I’m weaving Arthur’s emotions and experiences into a creative and fictional retelling. You can also experience this story in a cinematic way. I play the game, record my gameplay, edit the footage in the best possible way, and upload it to my YouTube channel. This way, after reading each story episode, you can watch it unfold like a movie.

Thanks for the mention. This episode makes me uncomfortable. Your writing style is completely different from weeks ago. Try to read yourself and use a good translator instead of AI. I checked, and it says what I guessed. If you use AI to write, better mention it. GPTzero gives an 84% generated text, which is too high.
I know how to write, when to use AI (for generating ideas) or avoid AI. Therefore, I am not going to use any translator because I don't need it.
Think logically, how can AI generate text for this story episode from a video game clip?
With all due respect, I think you should not rely "entirely" on these AI detectors, as there are many false positives.
If you still want to play detective then be my guest and scan every author's post with your detectors, I'm sure you will find that more than 70% of users on this platform are using AI based on the results of these detectors.
We also encountered a false positive case in our contest last week. Check this post. Translate it into English and then scan it with the ZeroGPT detector. You'll be surprised...
It seems we all write like AI these days or are we out of words and use the same expressiins. As you say you know how to use AI so for sure also how to make it use the parts you like to involve like many others seem to know.
Since the use it worldwide promoted and "accepted" I leave it here. No need to mention me. I rather read something raw, persomal no matter if it's a seeues, based on a game, film, life, history or whatever. I wish you happy writing.
Nothing surprises me these days.
♥️
No, we don't write like AI. In fact, AI systems were trained on our writing, but never mind...
I won't mention you in any of my upcoming posts because I don't want to make you "uncomfortable".
I wish you happy writing too!

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗
Llegué a pensar que el bisonte le daría guerra jajajaja, pero me alegró que su fuerza le haya dado la oportunidad de derribarlo.
Te deseo mucho éxito en la dinámica... Un fuerte abrazo💚
Haha yes, it actually did give me a tough time initially, but I managed. Thanks for stopping by!
