RE: Saving for the Ultimate Drone with my Steem $$$

in #drone8 years ago

I bought a 3DR Solo last year, which I absolutely love/ hate.

I am saving my steem for a Panasonic GH5 and some sound gear so I can start making some documentary/ journalism stories about open source.

I have enough, but I'm having a really hard time letting go of my steem, lol.

Sort:

That's one heck of a camera. It would be rude not to treat yourself? :) I'm sure you'll make even more steem with that camera, especially if you start making documentaries. What is open source may I ask?

lol. Yes, so rude. I don't know why I can't just pull the trigger. Well, I guess it's because I believe we will see $10.00 steem relatively soon and much higher long term, and selling off a few thousand now would really hurt my feelings if that happened.

Open source: What is open source?
It applies to more than just software. These days it is applied to education, governance, money (crypto-currency is often open source) and much more.

ah OK, as in Linux is open source, everyones free to write code and share it within the community, information etc on the web all open source, got ya. Steem is getting a lot of attention lately (media wise) I really believe by xmas we could be talking $15+ which really isn't unrealistic when you think about how big the market is.

Yes. I love me some Linux. I agree with the price. It doesn't seem like it would take all that much.

Although I don't have much, every thing is going into the steem. Just wondering do you get any bonus for holding onto steem itself? I know the price can go up and down but any other value like interest?

I'm pretty sure steem power gains with inflation while you hold it. I know it did, but that may have ended. Holding steem doesn't help, other than it is liquid. The real bonus is holding steem power which gets a better payout for curation (votes).

ah ok, that confirms what I thought. Thanks. Let's hope steem continues to grow!

Oh, yeah, I have a website that is dedicated to all of that, but not as well written as I would like, so I'm not sure if it explains things well or not - diggndeeper.com

perfect, share the documentaries here and on your website :)

Yup. I better get to it and quit putting it off.
