Strategy, Spies, and a Silent Victory – Behind the Scenes of Drugwars

in #drugwars3 months ago (edited)

Sometimes, even virtual worlds suddenly slip into a state of emergency – just like a few days ago in Drugwars on the Steem blockchain. The game was down for three whole days. Nothing worked. No attacks, no defense, no upgrades. For many, just a brief pause – for others, the beginning of a whole new strategy.

I also play Drugwars via Telegram, though under a different name there. When I learned that a backup had been restored, I knew: every minute counts now. I checked if a certain player – let’s call him @jorgebgt – had already hidden behind his attack shield. But no. He was still vulnerable. The window was still open.

My plan came together quickly. I wanted to test how strong he still was – and whether he felt too safe. So I launched two smaller waves first: around 2 million Hobos, followed by 10 million Rowdys. I knew I would likely lose those attacks. That wasn’t the point. It was about weakening him – a first knock on the door. And maybe... a bit of a bluff.

Then came phase two. This time with real firepower. Two heavy assaults. The first one hit hard – his army clearly took damage.

And the second one? A final push. I scored a win, but strangely, with almost no losses on either side.

That made me suspicious. Where were his remaining troops? There should have been defenders. I sent a spy – to his main base and two of his nine outposts. And sure enough: the main base was deserted. But the spies reported active armies at the other locations – and, to my delight, fully stocked warehouses. Drugs, weapons, alcohol – all maxed out.

I couldn’t pass that up.

I launched nine coordinated attacks – each with 1 million Big Mamas and 100,000 helicopters. The mission: destruction and a solid resource haul. It wasn’t just about winning – it was about sending a message.

Afterwards, I checked the fight list – and noticed another name: @davidke20. Also pretty high up on the list. My gut feeling? @jorgebgt, you probably haven’t made too many friends lately.

I know, it’s just a game. But sometimes, these digital battlefields reflect something very real: reactions, tactics, silent alliances – and that one moment where someone is underestimated. The moment when you're just a little faster.

Maybe it’s a small reminder: strength isn’t just about numbers – it’s about timing, intuition, and the willingness to strike first.

“Those who spy too late are punished by the game.”

You enjoyed it hehehe

I recommend this game, it's starting, you might be interested.

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed it – no doubt about that. You and your gang gave me quite a hard time lately. This was my response… maybe even a bit of revenge. 😄
But hey, good to see you’re taking it just as chill as I am. ✌️

Thanks for the link to the new game, by the way! I signed up and I’ll see if it’s something for me. Honestly though, I really need to slow down a bit – there are just too many games circling around me right now…

Ah, okay, I'm the opposite; I was looking for a little game to occupy a little time; Could you recommend me a good one? greetings

Hey, sure – but to be honest, I’m not really the typical gamer type. 😅
I’ve played Splinterlands and Golem Overlord on Hive for quite a while. Out of the two, Golem Overlord was definitely my favorite. I even invested a fair bit into both games – but I recently stopped playing them. Just needed a break.

What I like about Drugwars is that it was one of the very first blockchain games on Steem – kind of old-school, but in a good way.
And the best part? You can play it completely without any investment.
That’s super important for me – no restrictions, no pressure. I can just play it for fun, whenever I feel like it.

To be honest, I don’t know any other game that’s really comparable to Drugwars in that sense.

But if I come across something interesting, I’ll definitely let you know! 🙂

Thanks a lot; I also play to not stress, just to relax and focus on other things.

I'll let you know if I get something, greetings
