Maxis Torture Themselves (Never Be Like That)

I uploaded this the other day and then next thing I know I'm seeing ICP maxis just losing it. There is a new proposal out there to make it 4X more expensive for cycles on ICP in an attempt to make it deflationary. This would absolutely be a death blow to the Internet Computer Protocol. I have seen this play out several times where an ecosystem thinks if they just burn a bunch of coins or choke off the inflation it will make the system more valuable but most ecosystems actually suffer from that because you don't at least have a little bit of inflation to pay to support the network and support developers.

Even BTC Maxis get angry when alts pump. The way to mitigate this mental torture is keep a little bit of diversification. Personally I think having various different code bases and a mix of primarily currency related stuff and then some L1 smart contract platforms makes the most sense. Even if someone went BTC, BNB, XMR, DOGE, and SOL they would have 4 different code bases, A couple of smart contract platforms, a privacy play, a meme play, and in general capture solid moves if their timing was right.
