RE: HF-21 discussion
Fair enough, though I see Steem as the infrastructure that all these Dapps work on top of. This adds value to Steem. I would love to keep on building up more, but it seems that this may not happen in the future.
Testing wouldn't resolve everything, but the main premise of change is to review the rewards distribution. Where the author actually gets more. Show me this and I will be more at ease.
We can't test for that because of what I mentioned. If you can outline exactly how such a test would be a good indicator of behavior in the real world then I'm all ears, but as far as I'm concerned that's not realistic what so ever.
Let's go back to the "why change the distribution of rewards on the main layer". Because obviously that is what Steem is, ultimately it's a game of distributing an inflatory pool of newly minted tokens and most participants are not pleased with the wanton and dare I say rampant cheating. Yes you can build all kinds of "addons" and implement different "mods" in terms of games, you can apply different rules, change parameters but none of that will affect what is the main game, and so it's redundant in that regard. Even if most players prefer the modified version the state it is based on will make a huge difference to their niche. The only way to avoid that is to cut the branch of and hope it roots and becomes it's own tree, but as long as the tree is not doing great, fidgeting with it's branches is an effort in futility.
