you are right paper money and bank deposit are not the way to get value . i am from Romania we use dollars and euro but our national moned are leu . if for example last year you deposited in the bank or under the mattress 100 usd (400 lei) , this year at the exchange you get for 100 usd 430 lei. ok this is not really a win situation becouse wen go to market to spend the money will get les products . INFLATION are not value
