I eat raw for a week
My name is Hanine and in 2016, I challenged myself to get out of my comfort zone by completing a challenge every day for 365 days. The following is a "snapshot" of one of these many challenges. This is a small piece of the final puzzle that was my personal transformation during this adventure.
One of my greatest discoveries in this year 2016 was probably to experience and realize the direct impact of my plate contents on my physical and mental energy levels.
Like most people, I associated diets only with physical transformation objectives (loss of weight, muscle gain etc.). It is true that physical transformation is much easier to demonstrate and measure than brain-level transformation.
After several series of food experiments, for some ephemeral, such as stopping sugar, doing a detox juice cure, trying new foods, eating only healthy fats, stopping gluten, eating vegetarian and trying all kinds of food supplements, I try from tomorrow (when I could spend again) a diet cure 100% raw and alive for a little less than a week.
Of all the species that inhabit the earth, humans are the only ones who cook and process their food. Before the fire was discovered, we ate raw. Then we started cooking his food and eating meat.
Eating raw and alive means eating your food in its natural state. Thanks to a kitchen based on live food, the energetic potential and synergy of the ingredients, their balance of vitamins, mineral salts and enzymatic factors are assimilated in the best conditions.
For several months now, I have been setting myself the objective of composing my plates with at least 50% of the live, raw and unprocessed food.
The idea is to have a high nutritional density for few calories, which is the opposite of what is found most of the time in our food. In the West, we are a civilization that is supercharged, but undernourished. While eating raw has health benefits, there are limits to this practice. Some nutritionists warn against possible deficiencies and irritation of the digestive tract. It is also very important to pay close attention to the origin and quality of foods that you’re eating raw. When in fact, only cooking can eliminate any bacteria and other germs.
