RE: Sentenced to 15 years in school, without possibility of parole.

after serving their sentence they'll instinctively look for someone in authority to tell them what to do.

After a full term of public 'education', it has taken decades to deprogram from this instinct. I'm still not totally detoxed from it. If someone dressed as an "authority" tells me to do something, it's really difficult for me to evaluate if I should do it or not - my instinct is to simply obey.

Obedience to authority is not a bad thing, but the inability to reason in situations like these can be disastrous.

I guess I was born lucky, had some sort of built-in disobedience gene, but I know many who spend their lives going by the rules.

Some of us a are weird. I am too. The education system did not work the way it was supposed to on me.
