Enjoy reading your travel adventures. Never been to Isle of Wight but it's on my hit list.
Good luck as you venture across the Channel. Hopefully everyone is just as friendly there as well.
It's a beautiful little island. I was lucky because I had friends there that acted as tour guides. I said to them for years that I was going to come and see them one day and I think they were shocked when I actually said I was coming! It's a little expensive to get there (around £25 return) but it's worth seeing.
