The official football kit worn by England's international team retails for £160, yet it is made in factory in Bangladesh where workers are paid as little as 21 pence an hour, according to reports.

Nike are the official sponsors of the England football kit and produce the football shirt, shorts and socks.

According to the reports the kit, which is the most expensive England kit in history, is made inside a 'government-controlled' zone in Bangladesh. Female workers are said to earn just £1.68 per day

The findings were made by The Daily Telegraph, after they uncovered evidence of staff in Savar, near the capital Dhaka, working 60 hours a week.

Nike, extended their contract with the FA to a 12-year contract worth an incredible £400 million. However, seemingly pay next to nothing for the production of the kits.

MP Jo Stevens, a Labour member of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, has called for an investigation.

“The FA have a duty to oversee every aspect of England’s engagement with the World Cup, including the kit, which we should be proud of as a country. It will be hard to be proud if it turns out it was made on the back of people being exploited.”
