Hokkaido, Japan 7 days and 6 nights 🇯🇵 No early rises/no rush/free travel
7 days and 6 nights in Hokkaido, including transfers to and from Tokyo, totaling 9 days.
❄️D1: Sapporo: Arrival in Hokkaido + Local Stroll
☃️Landed at 7:45 AM, took the JR train to the hotel, and started exploring around noon.
📍Odori Park — Clock Tower — Hokkaido Jingu Shrine — Maruyama Park — Shiroi Koibito Park — Tanukikoji Shopping Street — Return to hotel
❄️D2: Zenihako and Otaru Day Trip
☃️Departed from the JR station at 10 AM, bound for Otaru (via Zenihako).
📍JR Sapporo Station — JR Zenihako Station — Shirokuma Cafe — JR Minami-Otaru Station — Music Box Museum — Hello Kitty Cafe — Otaru Canal — Funamizaka — Mount Tengu — Return to Sapporo by JR.
🤥If you want to see the Tenguyama Blue Hour, get up early. We left late and were more spontaneous. When we got to the JR station, we found the only train left after 12 PM. We also saw a sign for Hokkaido University, so we took a quick stroll around the university while waiting. We arrived in Zenhan at 1:00 am and took some leisurely photos by the beach. It was already 3:00 am when we got to Otaru, so we didn't make it to Funamizaka or catch the Tenguyama Blue Hour. If you want to see more of Otaru's attractions, get up early 🤲🏻
❄️D3: Sapporo
☃️Left out at 11:00 am and had a blast playing in the snow at Nakajima Park.
📍Hokkaido University — Nakajima Park — Tanukikoji Shopping Street
Originally, I had planned to visit Hokkaido University today, but I had already visited it the day before, so I headed straight to Nakajima Park.
🏨Days 1-3 stayed in Sapporo (mystays Sapporo Susukino Hotel, great experience 😑, but if you have a budget, please give it a try).
❄️Day 4: Hakodate
☃️Woke up the earliest of the day, a little after 5 AM, to catch the first JR train to Hakodate. The ride took about 4 hours. Not wearing makeup in the morning and catching up on sleep on the train was fine.
📍Mashu Maru — Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse — Mt. Hakodate
❄️Day 5: Hakodate
☃️Stayed out again at 10 AM. Best moments of the day went to [Omori Coast] and [Rokkatei].
📍Omori Coast — Rokkatei (Yuhhotori Branch) — Tropical Botanical Garden — Goryokaku Tower — Back to the hotel
🏨Days 4-5: Stay in Hakodate (Premier Kempin Hotel, the same hotel as Conan's. The hotel itself and the location are both great.)
❄️Day 6: Lake Toya
☃️Leave at 9:00 AM to take the JR train to Lake Toya. Be sure to save time for the Petite Merveille at the JR station entrance. It's delicious! Too bad it's not easy to bring back home, otherwise it would have made a great souvenir.🥲
📍Toya JR Station — Toyako Manseikaku Hotel — Wander around the hotel — Enjoy the hot springs at the hotel
❄️Day 7: Sapporo
☃️Have breakfast at the hotel at 7:00 AM, take a taxi to Toya Station, and take the JR train back to New Chitose Airport. There's plenty of time for the 1:30 PM flight.
