They just wasted their lives and died for their love of thrill and adventure. There is so much things we can do to make our life more useful and profitable. We dont just exist for nothing, we have individual duty to do as the highest form of His creation.

Of course we cant blame anyone, that is the path they chose and thats the way they want to spend their lives.
