I am not able/unable to swim, I have tried to learn it, but unfortunately/sadly I could not do it. But even if I could swim, I still would not go to swim outside at night. Were you outside or inside a building?

I see. You probably went to swim with others. I still would not do it outside. Nowadays being outside in the night is dangerous. Even together with a few friends. Being in water also increases the risks of being attacked/killed.
We swim indoors at a local swimming pool on Thurs nights :)
We only do open water swimming from May-Sept during daylight hours
That is good and safer. I would do the same, if I could swim.
