RE: "If your pastor says it's okay to drink, find a new church"?
Aristotle advocated the middle way. Aristotle noticed that absolutist tend to get mired in paradoxes. For that matter most absolute statements can be turned into a paradox with the reflexive paradox.
Both Socrates and Aristotle clearly saw how easily it is for absolutists to run astray.
Aristotle advocated the middle way as moderates are better able to recognize and avoid paradoxes.
When one looks at the left or right one finds extremists tie themselves up with ideological knots.
