Good luck Victor! It is possible to find your family members. The hard part is when the immigration changed family names to simplify and Engish-ize. What a shame. I suppose some families were convinced they would blend in better and were grateful for their new home and some probably didn't have a clue what whats happening to their name. Not much foresight for future and historical records on the governments part. Ellis Island did keep immigration records so there is a good chance you will find them.
