You probably get longer cold spells in the winter.
Both areas have pretty big Nordic/Scandinavian population bases too.

We went back today, my son wanted more pies from the Mennonites for his birthday and it was absolutely packed with people and probably twice as many vendors.
I actually couldn't manage to get any more pics this morning.
