Individuals are to register with a token and collect the carnival uniform before you are eligible to become a member of any band group and after the registration and collection of your carnival uniform you go for the training on how your group will display on the carnival day, because you are competing with others bands but the training takes days before the main carnival day which is only one day. On this day even the governor come down and feel among with them, all the major road linked to the carnival root are block, all securities are standby on this day.
Judges are on points observing and judging all the band base on their performance because the best performing band stand a chance to a prize, prices are won from the first to third best performing band and their best cultural play called “EKPE’’ are also competing among themselves through dancing of their instrumental beat and the best performing stand a chance to win a prize as well, prices to be won rang from 500,000 with a car for the competition bands and there’s are also non competition band which are HIT FM band and many more, Powerbike display and more.
It one of the day which some citizen waited and pray for to come, in preparation all the houses on the major road are usually paint, any worn out road are usually repair because of the visitors coming into the state for the carnival, it usually a fun festival
