Officer Zoya gave him a standard smile as he arrived at the immigration counter. After examining his photo and comparing it to his face she opened his passport and turned to the identification page. She froze her fingers. She bent over. "Taured" was the name of a nation she had never heard of in her life displayed in strong readable characters. Zoya blinked wondering if she was reading incorrectly or was simply exhausted. However it said "Taured" quite plainly. There was nothing like this in all the countries she had committed to memory on the globe map. The passport was authentic though. Japan France and even Dubai had their entry and exit stamps on it. Everything appeared genuine. She called her superior officer right away.

Speaking English fluently the man seemed at ease. He merely responded "Taured is in Europe between France and Spain " when asked about his nation. Officials gazed at one another. Such a nation did not exist there. "Sir we're sorry but there is no Taured here " they said presenting him with a map. He appeared perplexed. Softly he remarked "But it's been there for more than a thousand years." "Three years ago I too took a trip here. You are able to review your records.

No such name or prior record of his arrival was found by the officials when they searched their systems. The format was correct his passport contained a valid visa and the airport security cameras captured him getting off the plane like everyone else. The man grinned once more and responded "I am a business consultant " when they inquired about the purpose of his visit. I've traveled to Karachi to attend a meeting. My business handles cross-border logistics. He even had paperwork including a return ticket for the next week meeting letters and hotel reservations. While higher officials were informed the cops made the decision to place him in a secure area for the night. Officer Zoya sat contemplating that night. In her career she had never witnessed anything like this. The man appeared harmless intelligent and nice. However his story was nonsensical. Could he have been extraterrestrial? An alternate reality? We humans are unaware of a concealed reality?

What if he got in through a temporal or spatial opening? What if the boundary between his world and ours briefly opened today for some reason? When they got to his room the following morning he was gone. There was no escape route the windows were intact and the door was locked from the inside. Everything was gone including his clothes bag and documents. He was gone in an instant. Airport cameras did not reveal any evidence either.

No one is aware of that man's true identity or origins to this day. A few people think it was a dream. He was a time traveler according to some. However Zoya thinks he came for a reason either to learn more about our planet or to locate something that has been lost. She adds she would like to sit down and hear his story if he ever returns not to judge or catch him but just to understand. Because the truth can occasionally be stranger than fiction.
