The Mystery of Project Z
The blue light shone brightly and Dineth closed his eyes. When he opened them he noticed he wasn´t in his grandfather´s laboratory anymore. The location looked familiar. He tried to leave the room he had just arrived and went through the door.
—Dineth? —asked his father surprised. —How did you got back?
The boy couldn´t speak. The man saw he was holding the box of the Z Project.
—Give me that.
The father took the box and put it elsewhere. Dineth sat on the sofa while his father walk to the table and grab his phone.
—Hello? Dad it´s me, Kevin. Where are you? —Dineth could hear his grandfather´s voice through the speaker. —Look, Dineth is here with me. He took the box of the Project.
Kevin parted the cellphone from his ear because his father was talking loudly.
—No, I don´t know how he found it but the box is fine. Do you want me to drive to your house or do you want to come here?
Dineth heard the answer but he was too worried to care about it. Two hour later, his grandfather arrived and asked for the box. At first, it seemed like he didn´t care for his grandson but to people related to their family and work, his concern was a big one.
The grandfather made a call in the backyard. When he entered the house, he spoke to Dineth:
—You shouldn´t do this again, Dineth.
—I didn´t mean it. I just saw the box and pushed the button.
—Don´t do it again.
—Dad, calm down. Don´t scream at him.
—Kevin, we may die.
—Ground me for once —said Dineth—. I want to finish this.
Both men stop talking to him and decided to hold surveillance. The three relatives remained in the house. The two older were staring at the windows while the kid looked at them wandering what would happen next.
Kevin noticed that Dineth was nervous. Perhaps he still thinks we will punish him, concluded.
Kevin stopped watching by the windows and approached his son to explain why that project was important. With every word, the boy seemed to understand why his relatives were so worried.
The Project Z was an idea to avoid transport. It didn´t matter if it was bus, private car, trains or planes. Grandfather got sick of moving from one place to the other and hated crowds, loud music –especially if it wasn´t of his taste-, crying babies, religious nutts that enter the vehicle to make passengers feel guilty and so many other things he didn´t want to go through again.
—Important people knew what I was doing and they see my job as a risk to the stability of their business.

—They want to hurt grandpa?
—Yes, nothing will happen if you don´t touch the box again.
Three hours later, the old man took his box and tried to leave the house when they saw patrol lights outside.
—Dad! —Cried Dineth.
—Come together —screamed Grandfather.
The three guys came closer and the oldest of them pushed the button of the Project Z. when the already known blue light shone, they left the house and appeared in a park in another town.
—Dad, —asked Kevin— where are we?
—In another state. I couldn´t think of my house. The police could have taken it too.
