You have taken us into the future where there are no physical problems but people are feeling stressed. The population growth has stopped and the life has become monotonous. Your team feels there is no free will, but the people are slaves of materialistic desires.
The population in the future is looking for a free soul. Their idea hits and they gain popularity. The downside is they have nothing to gain as they have no past, no feelings, no memories, no emotional but ability to consume and advance technologically. So who stands to gain from their invention?

I am well aware that the story ends on a hopeless note, but I hope that in the future we will continue to cultivate our souls, that humanity will reconsider and learn to use Artificial Intelligence to its advantage, and that we will not allow it to determine our destinies.
