Steemit Challenge S26-w6 : Two-timing
Dear Steemians,
I welcome you to the Sixth and last Week of Season 26 of the Steemit Challenge- 15th to 21st September 2025! The 6th week prompt is different from all the previous five prompts.
It's an extraordinary opportunity for fiction writers for using their imagination and remember I want you to create a fiction but make sure you keep facts in your mind which provide your readers a true worldly sensation yet taking them into the world of fantasy.
Please, remember this week's prompt is different so be extra careful.
Theme of the week : Two-timing
Dear Steemians, in this story I am inviting you to write about "two-timing." As you all know Two-timing is a term when someone deceives their partner by having a relationship with someone else.
For instance, you met a stranger while traveling who offers you something that you can't resist. You go with that stranger, and it happens... Do you think it was normal so there's nothing wrong, or will you feel guilty?
Prompt
John was traveling from Sydney to Canberra by bus. He settled into his seat and looked casually at the side seat next to his, which wasn't occupied yet.
At that moment his phone rang. It was his wife, who asked if his journey from Delhi to Sydney was okay. When John was busy answering her call, he saw a beautiful girl in her mid-twenties come and sit beside him.
John hung up and smiled at the girl in the next seat. They started a conversation as soon as the bus started moving. Three hours passed talking on different topics, and they reached Canberra.
John was feeling a strange temptation. He was too anxious, and then it happened. When getting down from the bus, that girl Tina shook hands, slipped a card into his hand, and smiled...
Your story begins here around these points :
*What do you think why did Tina give John her card?
*Tell us, what will be John's next move?
*Do you feel John took advantage and went ahead, or he felt a sense of guilt?
*Did John enjoy the temptation or a bitterness that followed his experience?
*If you wish to give your story another twist, you can save John from temptation or let him dive into it full on!
The choice is yours!
Dear contestants, you have the theme and you have the situation and now you have to create a story of how John and Tina will act and behave. It's your turn to expand the story but remember you have limit of words and you have to stay within that limit.
Points to build your story around:
A great starting scenario
The human nature
The conflict of thoughts, and temptations
The conversation
End of the story with a result
Let's us see how your imagination works for you?
Please note:
*A well-crafted fiction story provides an engaging plot, including how you unfold it, what actions your characters took, and how they interacted with each other.
*The actions from start to finish are all part of a good fiction story. We will see how you have twisted the plot in this prompt in a way that moves the story forward and keeps your readers interested by introducing complications and suspense.
*We will see what conversations your characters are having about their differences and patch up as you have to make your story meaningful through all these choices, and your marks will be based on all these facts.
*Please read all the points of this prompt carefully.
Special Note:
-No greetings, etc. but come to the story straight away!
-You should remember to make your story relatable, engaging, and thought-provoking, but don't miss out on experimenting with fantasy, fiction, and mystery in your story. Focusing on relatable themes with worldly facts will resonate with your readers.
-Make your story stand out with an original concept, unexpected plot twists, or memorable characters. I expect participants to venture into the world of imagination and create breathtaking stories but don't forget the real life facts.

*Story start to finish: It will show how well the participant understood the finer points of the prompt and build the story based on the prompt provided.
*Originality & Uniqueness : The web is full of related stories, so you copied the idea, reworded it, and that's your story. No, that's not going to work. I will read every line carefully and see how you developed your story.
*Presentation : I will see to it that how Steemians presented the story and the markdown and image settings.
*My Observation : That's where I will tell you what was unique or what I liked in your story. This could be a crucial point that will make a difference on your result.
I will check AI Content :
Let me make it clear that even if you use ChatGPT or any other similar tools I will pick it up and your points will reflect the result. I know other methods that clearly indicate use of AI and rewording so be careful. We do not mention use of AI in our remarks unless you question our decision/marks but let the scores explain.
*We check plagiarism.
*Be careful, be original. I know how to detect the original from duplicate or stolen text.
Important Reminder:
1- Post on your blog only and not in any community. I do not want to trespass other communities.
2- There will be no compromise on 500-800 Words limit which is a test of your writing ability within limitations and a mandatory condition. it means you must stay within that exact word count range to demonstrate you can write concisely and effectively under constraints no matter what anyone comments against this condition.
I look forward to your creativity and wish you best of luck.

Hello @dove11, it's the first time I think to join, but I have a question I didn't well understand.
Should I recreate my story including the prompt (i.e., start with John on the bus), or can I start it at a later point, including references to what the prompt says happened in the past? Thank you in advance and apologize for the inconvenience. Greetings from Italy :D
A prompt is a hint and the fictional story is built based on it. It all depends on how you feel the protagonist will act in such circumstances so everyone on their own. But yes, the prompt s backbone and guideline what to expect in your story as per the terms and conditions of the contest. All the best!
