Steemit Challenge S26-w2| Mysterious Roommate
Dear Steemians,
I welcome you to the Second Week of Season 26 of the Steemit Challenge, Duration 18-24 August, 2025!
It's an opportunity for "Fiction Writing", allowing your imagination to go as wide as you permit but remember I want you to create a fiction full of real life-facts which provide your readers a true sensation yet take them to the world of fantasy.
Let's see how you create a story based on the prompt provided below:
The Theme of the week : Mysterious Roommate:
When Ronnie first came to live with Timothy, he told him about his intention. He said that he had come to this city to start a business. Ronnie shared his room with him so he could have some savings for himself.
Ronnie said that he was thinking of starting an export-import business in this city. Ronnie's way of dressing and talking impressed Timothy, so he gave him a lot of information about this city.
One evening when Timothy entered his room, he saw Ronnie with a bag that he pulled from under the bed and looking at his tools.
These were steel hand tools like iron cutters, saws, bunches of keys, drills, a small gun, a magnifying glass, etc. Timothy could not understand why an export-import businessman would need these tools, especially the gun.
Timothy felt something was not right with Ronnie’s story because such tools have nothing to do with import-export but used for burglary, robbery, espionage, or similar activities. Ronnie lost Timothy’s trust, as he thought his business idea could be a smokescreen, and he was involved in something illegal.
Timothy now suspects that his roommate is leading a double life, perhaps as a double agent, a spy, a thief, or a person with extraordinary talents.
If you can figure out the story then tell us about Ronnie in 500 to 800 words.
Points to build your story around:
A great starting scenario
What do you think Ronnie did?
Errors and fact
The use of melodrama
The conversation
End of the story with a result
Let's us see how your imagination works for you?
Please note:
*A well-crafted fiction story provides an engaging plot, including how you unfold it, what actions your characters took, and how they interacted with each other.
*The actions from start to finish are all part of a good fiction story. We will see how you have twisted the plot in this prompt in a way that moves the story forward and keeps your readers interested by introducing complications and suspense.
*We will see what conversations your characters are having about our protagonist, Ronnie's intention as you have to make your story meaningful through all these choices, and your marks will be based on all these facts.
*Please read all the points of this prompt carefully.
Note
*No greetings, etc. but come to the story straight away.
- No headings or subheadings, you are writing a story and not an essay.
-You should remember to make your story relatable, engaging, and thought-provoking, but don't miss out on experimenting with fantasy, fiction, and mystery in your story. Focusing on relatable themes and overcoming challenges will resonate with your readers.
-Make your story stand out with an original concept, unexpected plot twists, or memorable characters. I expect participants to venture into the world of imagination and create breathtaking stories.
