Fiestatuesday - Australian Koala 2018 1 oz silver coin!
I love Australia silver, and concidering all that has happened there lately with fires and animals... I thought this was a good one to share and I LOOVE koalas 🐨 they are amazing!
So here is my #fiestatuesday by the amazing @silverd510 and a new silver Im happy to have.
Australian Koala 2018 1 oz
- Purity is .9999 silver.
- Fine weight: 1 troy oz (31.1 grams)
- Diameter: 40.6 mm
- Thickness: 4 mm
The reverse of the 2018 1 oz Silver Australian Koala Coin includes the latest koala design in the series. With the cuddly marsupial captured sitting in a tree, engravings around it include the series name, the “P” mint mark of the Perth Mint, and the year of issue, weight, purity, and metal content.
On the obverse of the 2018 Silver Koala is the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen’s effigy featured here is the fourth-generation design created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The 2018 Silver Koala from the Perth Mint is the first to feature .9999 fine silver in this series. The 2016 debut of the Silver Kangaroo was the mint’s first-ever .9999 fine silver bullion coin, and now the 2018 Silver Kookaburra and Koala coins join the mix.

I love koala coins. They are the first silver coins I started collecting and I have one from every year they have been issued.
All the fires in Australia are so sad. This is a beautiful coin.
