Bear Fishing on a Fall Day
September's amber light oh what a beautiful glow to relish like in the late dusk of the day, Hey this little bear sits into a quiet water's edge, got a rod in one paw, waiting for whatever the river might offer him. Patience is indeed a virtue to see what he could get. This is a part of the Sept-amber drawing challenge, where the prompt was simply "bear fishing," but I have leaned into the autumn vibes like those warm, fading colors that hints of cozy warm sweaters and a lil chilly air. I want the bear to have furs brushed in gentle watercolors of rust and a little gold. This echoes the last hints of summer sun and fallen leaves. Look at that slouch, the way the bear hunches forward just a bit, and eyes with a patient stare. It could be boring watching the pond and this gives the bear a feel of the season and its cycle and have the excuse to be lazy. That gaze yes it has a touch of melancholy, sure, but the bear feels content with it. Time pass by the sun dip low there may never be a hefty catch but the time spent alone in that beautiful autumn scene is priceless.
This is how I made the quick sketch of the bear it was rather easy and fast but I had a bit of a struggle deciding on the brushes to use to give it some colors. The colors of fall too are a bit confusing for me and took longer to pick this rust and gold although I tried some amber but they are too vibrant for the calming feel that I go for.
🎉 Congratulations!
